Centre named after Dr. Peter S. Allen

In a nice ceremony, organized by the Faculty of Medicine, the InVivo NMR Research facility has been renamed to "Peter S. Allen MR Research Centre", after its founder and long-term director, Dr. Peter S. Allen. The ceremony was attended by a lot of current and former employees and students, representatives of the Faculty and various funding agencies and Pete's family members.

Dr. Peter Allen has secured the first MRI machine in Alberta in 1985,primary for research purposes, although it allowed for some clinical use. The facility in its current shape and form, with 3 research dedicated systems, has been established in 2002 (read more about history).
